Frequently Asked Questions.
Are you sure the AntiGravity® Hammock will hold me?
Every portion of the AntiGravity® Hammock is rated for over 2000 pounds (2200kgs).
Are the instructors certified?
Yes, all Beyond AntiGravity® instructors have been trained and certified by a master trainer. Many of our instructors have been trained by Christopher Harrison himself.
Will I be successful in my first class?
Yes! Everyone leaves the class a success! This is a suspension fitness class, there is no competition and everyone works at their own pace and level.
Do I need to be physically fit and have prior experience in yoga?
You don't need to have prior yoga experience but people who maintain a consistent fitness regime will find AntiGravity® easy to do compared to those who are not physically fit. However, AntiGravity® is challenging and fun at the same time, so it's a great entry point for those beginners who want to establish a regular fitness routine.
What should I wear?
Wear workout wear with sleeves, preferably cotton or cotton blend fabric. Remove all jewelry.
What are the contraindications for the routine?
We do not recommend the routine for those who are pregnant, have glaucoma, a recent surgery, heart disease, very high or low blood pressure, easy onset vertigo, osteoporosis / bone weakness, and/or other serious medical concerns.
I’m afraid of heights. Are the hammocks safe?
The difference between fear and excitement in the body is relaxation. In AntiGravity® we bring ourselves to presence before we begin class. During an inversion you are only 3 inches off the ground. Remember, “There is nothing to fear but fear itself”.
What differentiates AntiGravity® from the rest?
Nothing is more important than our students’ safety. AntiGravity® is the only aerial yoga program that is certified by the governing bodies of the US and EU. Its founder, Christopher Harrison, is the originator of the aerial yoga genre and the inventor of the silk hammock apparatus. He has put 10 years into developing the technique. Also, AntiGravity® is the only aerial yoga routine with a presence in over 40 countries.
